Multidisciplinary Approach

Huge strides have been made in Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things (IoT) / Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). These result in Smart Products, Smart Manufacturing, Smart Logistics, and Smart Services, and so forth. However, the realization requires individuals to have a multidisciplinary knowledge/approach.

The Department of Automation & Robotics strives to empower students with mechanical, electronic, electrical, computer science, project management concepts, and soft skills. Additionally, automation and robotics courses, like robot design, mechatronics system design, programming industrial automation systems, robot dynamics, control, etc.

Mechanical Engineering:

The students are imparted with the necessary knowledge to design, model, analyze, simulate and manufacture essential mechanical components and structures related to industrial robots and automation systems. The students learn machine drawing, machine design, manufacturing & metrology lab, hydraulics & pneumatics, etc.

Electronics Engineering:

The students learn to design and select electronics components related to industrial robots and automation systems. The students learn analog & digital electronics circuits, power electronics motor & drives, real-time embedded systems.

Computer Science Engineering:

Programming is indispensable to realize the monitoring and control of industrial robots and automation systems. Further, this is also required to develop an information system for humans to manage the automation and robotic systems. The students are extensively taught on various programming languages and also on databases.
