KLE Technological University Organises “Kalaa Devi 2025” – A Regional Drawing Competition Celebrating Young Talent

8 out of 9 prizes won by female students

KLE Technological University, Hubballi, successfully hosted Kalaa Devi 2025, its annual signature drawing competition, aimed at nurturing creativity, imagination, and artistic skills among schoolchildren. The event was conducted on November 30, 2025, in the University Quadrangle and attracted participation from more than 700 students across the Hubballi–Dharwad region, reaffirming its position as one of North Karnataka’s most awaited art competitions.

A special highlight of this year’s edition was that 8 out of the 9 prizes across the three drawing categories were secured by female students, showcasing the outstanding creative talent and artistic leadership displayed by young girls in the region. In addition to the drawing competition, a “Best from Waste” Project Exhibition was organized for high school students, promoting sustainability, innovation, and environmental awareness through creativity.

Kalaa Devi 2025 was organised with the support of the Regional Transport Office (Government of Karnataka), Rotary Club, Inner Wheel Club, the NSS Wing of KLE Technological University, and Student Council members of KLE Tech, whose collective efforts ensured the success of the event.

The competition was inaugurated by Shri Shrikant Badiger, Regional Transport Officer, in the presence of Dr. Sanjay Kotabagi, Dean – Student Welfare, KLE Technological University. Officials Shri Siddu Bellad, Shri Matapati, Smt. Ashalatha, and Inner Wheel Club President Smt. Minal Salunke also graced the occasion.

Competition Categories and Themes

To encourage fair participation and meaningful engagement across age groups, the contest was conducted under three themes:

* Category A (3rd–5th Standard): My Favourite Cartoon

* Category B (6th–7th Standard): Bad Effects of Pollution on Environment

* Category C (8th–10th Standard): My Dream

All participants received drawing kits to support their artistic expression, and merit awards were distributed to celebrate outstanding contributions.
